James Lawrence Hinneh Awards Scholarships, Donates LRD$200,200 to Gibraltar Islamic Foundation School

Monrovia, Liberia – The President of the National Customs Brokers Association of Liberia, James Lawrence Hinneh, has reaffirmed his commitment to education and youth empowerment by awarding scholarships to outstanding students and making a financial contribution toward the expansion of the Gibraltar Islamic Foundation Elementary & Junior High School.

Speaking as the keynote speaker at the school’s 7th Graduation Ceremony, held in Gibraltar Community, District #14, Hinneh encouraged graduating students to view education as the most powerful pathway to personal development, responsible leadership, and national progress.

Addressing graduates, parents, teachers, and invited guests, he urged the students to remain disciplined, pursue academic excellence, and recognize that the decisions they make today will shape their future and the future of Liberia.

As part of his commitment to supporting education beyond words, the James Lawrence Hinneh Foundation awarded full scholarships to three outstanding students of the Gibraltar Islamic Foundation School for the 2026/2027 academic year. The scholarships are intended to ensure that the beneficiaries continue their education without financial interruption.

In addition to the scholarships, Hinneh donated LRD$200,200 to support the ongoing expansion of the school’s building project. He described the contribution as an investment in creating a better learning environment for students and strengthening educational infrastructure within the community.

According to Hinneh, investing in schools is essential to building a stronger Liberia, noting that quality education remains the cornerstone of sustainable national development.

He also expressed gratitude to the administration of Gibraltar Islamic Foundation School for inviting him to participate in the graduation ceremony and commended the institution for its dedication to educating and mentoring young Liberians.

Hinneh emphasized that meaningful partnerships among individuals, communities, and institutions are necessary to ensure that every Liberian child has access to quality education and opportunities to succeed.
