Monrovia, Liberia – President of the National Customs Brokers Association, James L. Hinneh, has launched a strong appeal for the elevation of Marvis Sonii Elementary & Junior High School to a full Senior High School, pledging to work with education stakeholders to ensure students in Clara Town and neighboring communities can complete their secondary education without leaving their community.
Speaking as Guest Speaker at the school’s 2026 Graduation Ceremony in Clara Town, District #14, Montserrado County, Mr. Hinneh described education as the cornerstone of national development and urged graduates to remain disciplined, focused, and determined as they pursue higher levels of learning.
Returning to the campus, he reflected on the power of perseverance, telling graduates that success is not determined by where a person begins in life but by the vision, character, and commitment they demonstrate along the journey.
“No matter where you come from, never allow your circumstances to define your future. Stay committed to your education, build positive relationships, and seize every opportunity to become leaders who will transform Liberia,” he urged.
Mr. Hinneh paid glowing tribute to the school’s teachers, administrators, and parents, praising their sacrifice and unwavering commitment to molding the next generation of responsible citizens and future leaders.
He further announced his commitment to championing efforts to upgrade Marvis Sonii into a fully accredited Senior High School, describing the initiative as a critical investment in the future of District #14. He said expanding the school would improve access to quality education, reduce barriers faced by students, and create greater opportunities for academic success within the community.
Congratulating the Class of 2026, Mr. Hinneh challenged the graduates to become ambassadors of integrity, hard work, and excellence, reminding them that the knowledge and values acquired in school should be used to positively impact their families, communities, and the nation.
He concluded by reaffirming that Liberia’s future depends on an educated and empowered generation, emphasizing that strengthening the country’s education system remains one of the surest paths to sustainable national growth and development.
