Rep. Alex Noah Pledges Junior High Expansion for Early Learning Academy, Promotes Girls’ Education in Sinoe

By Anthony Dahn

Sinoe County, Liberia – Representative Alex Noah of Sinoe County Electoral District #3 has announced plans to transform the Early Learning Academy (ELA) in Tarjuowon District from an elementary school into a junior high institution, a move aimed at expanding educational opportunities for children in the district.

Representative Noah made the commitment while serving as keynote speaker at the school’s Kindergarten and Sixth Grade Graduation Ceremony, which brought together students, parents, teachers, and community members to celebrate the academic accomplishments of the graduating classes.

Addressing the gathering, the lawmaker emphasized the critical role of education in national transformation, urging parents and guardians to prioritize the schooling of their children, regardless of gender.

Representative Noah placed special focus on girls’ education, encouraging families to support young girls in remaining in school and avoiding challenges such as early marriage and teenage pregnancy. He said investing in the education of girls is essential to building stronger families and communities.

As part of his commitment to the school’s expansion, Representative Noah presented L$100,000 during the ceremony and pledged an additional L$150,000 upon his return to Monrovia to support the construction of three new classrooms. The facilities, he said, will help create the needed space for the introduction of junior high classes at the institution.

The Sinoe County lawmaker also disclosed plans to engage the management of Golden Veroleum Liberia (GVL) to seek support for the construction of additional schools in plantation communities across District #3, stressing that every child deserves access to quality education regardless of location.

The Principal of Early Learning Academy, Rev. John Kolleh, welcomed Representative Noah’s visit, describing it as the first engagement by a sitting representative since the establishment of the school. He expressed appreciation for the lawmaker’s support and said the planned expansion would provide more students with the opportunity to continue their education within their own community.

Rev. Kolleh further assured that the institution remains committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and conducive learning environment while working with parents, stakeholders, and partners to improve academic outcomes.

The planned upgrade of the Early Learning Academy represents a significant step toward strengthening education infrastructure in Tarjuowon District and increasing access to secondary education for young people in Sinoe County.
