Rep. Prescilla Abraham Cooper Calls for Unity and Patriotism on Liberia’s 179th Independence Anniversary

Monrovia, Liberia – Montserrado County District #5 Representative Prescilla Abraham Cooper has called on Liberians to embrace unity, patriotism, and national service as the country commemorates its 179th Independence Anniversary.

In her Independence Day message, Representative Cooper urged citizens to reflect on the sacrifices of Liberia’s forebears, whose resilience, courage, and determination laid the foundation for the nation’s freedom and sovereignty.

She emphasized that Liberia’s continued progress depends on the collective commitment of its people to preserve peace, strengthen national unity, and work together for a brighter future.

“As one people, we must carry forward Liberia’s story of strength through unity. Our diversity is our greatest strength, and together we can continue building a nation where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive in peace, with dignity, and purpose,” she said.

Representative Cooper further encouraged Liberians to let patriotism inspire lives of integrity, compassion, and selfless service while remaining committed to advancing development, justice, and shared prosperity.

She concluded her message by wishing all Liberians a joyful Independence Day and praying for God’s continued guidance and blessings upon the nation.

“One People. One Nation. One Destiny. Happy 179th Independence Day, Mama Liberia. May God continue to bless our beloved nation.”
