Monrovia, Liberia – Montserrado County District #14 Representative Kerkula Muka Kamara has called on Liberians to embrace peace, unity, and democratic values as the nation commemorates its 179th Independence Anniversary.
In his Independence Day message, Representative Kamara said the celebration is not only a time to reflect on Liberia’s rich history and cultural heritage, but also an opportunity to reaffirm the values that bind the nation together.
“As we celebrate 179 years as a nation, we honour our heritage and cherish the rich culture that defines us as one people. Let this occasion inspire us to strengthen our commitment to peace, democracy, and national unity,” he said.
The lawmaker urged Liberians, regardless of political affiliation, religion, or ethnic background, to work together in the interest of national development, emphasizing that lasting progress can only be achieved through dialogue, mutual respect, and collective responsibility.
Representative Kamara also encouraged citizens to uphold democratic principles, respect the rule of law, and continue promoting tolerance and reconciliation for a more peaceful and prosperous Liberia.
He concluded by wishing all Liberians a safe, peaceful, and joyous Independence Day celebration.
