Monrovia, Liberia — The National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL) has agreed to support the education of 14-year-old Liberian student Roosevelt Anthony Mayango Jr. through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
Mayango and members of his family recently paid a courtesy visit to NOCAL’s President and Chief Executive Officer following his graduation from the Our Lady of Fatima Rehab School System in Lower Johnsonville.
At age 14, Mayango graduated as valedictorian of his school and has since gained admission to Stella Maris Polytechnic University, where he is pursuing an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering.
NOCAL Management has reached an agreement with Mayango’s family to cover the cost of his undergraduate and graduate studies through the company’s scholarship initiative. The arrangement is expected to be formalized as part of NOCAL’s ongoing educational support programme.
Once finalized, Mayango will join students at universities across Liberia who are currently receiving assistance through NOCAL’s scholarship initiatives.
The company said the programme is part of its broader CSR efforts to support education and contribute to the development of Liberia’s human capital.
