NCBA President Hinneh Urges Graduates to Overcome Challenges, Pursue Their Dreams

MONROVIA, LIBERIA — National Custom Brokers Association President James Lawrence Hinneh has urged graduating students of the Rev. Peter Amos George Memorial Academy (PAGMA) to remain resilient, disciplined, and committed to their goals, emphasizing that humble beginnings should not determine their future.

Hinneh made the remarks while serving as guest speaker at the academy’s graduation ceremony, where he drew from his personal experience to encourage the graduates to pursue their ambitions despite financial and other challenges.

Reflecting on his early life, Hinneh recounted how he worked as a cartoon boy at the Freeport of Monrovia and struggled to finance his education at the African Methodist Episcopal University (AMEU) because his parents could not afford his college tuition.

He said his journey demonstrated that difficult circumstances should not prevent young people from pursuing their dreams, stressing the importance of faith, self-belief, hard work, and perseverance.

Hinneh encouraged the graduates to take advantage of available opportunities, volunteer, remain humble, and maintain a clear sense of purpose as they move into the next stage of their lives.

He further emphasized that success requires determination and discipline, urging the students not to allow their present circumstances to limit their future ambitions.

“With faith in God, hard work, and a willingness to serve, we can rise above challenges and inspire others along the way,” Hinneh said in his message to the graduates.

He concluded by encouraging the students to continue believing in themselves, working toward their goals, and remaining focused despite obstacles.

Beyond his message of encouragement, Hinneh also pledged L$150,000 toward the academy’s school construction project, underscoring the importance of investing in education and supporting the development of future generations.
