BUCHANAN, Grand Bassa County – The Grand Bassa County Administration has committed US$25,000 to support the construction of a perimeter fence and a modern toilet facility at Gabriel B. Smith Public High School.
The funding comes after the school’s administration appealed to the County Administration for assistance in addressing critical infrastructure challenges. A project proposal totaling US$28,000 was submitted, and following a review, county authorities approved US$25,000 toward the initiative.
The financial support is being provided from the US$500,000 contribution made by Cavalla Resources Liberia Inc., which has been earmarked for educational development across Grand Bassa County.
Presenting the cheque, County Superintendent Karyou Johnson reaffirmed the County Administration’s commitment to improving learning conditions and supporting projects that benefit students and schools throughout the county.
Receiving the cheque on behalf of the school, Principal Patience Davis thanked Superintendent Johnson and the County Administration for responding positively to the school’s request. She noted that the funding will significantly improve the institution’s infrastructure and enhance the learning environment.
Once completed, the project is expected to strengthen campus security through the construction of a protective fence while providing students and staff with improved sanitation facilities.
