Monrovia, Liberia – The Agriculture Industrial Training Bureau (AITB) is witnessing a notable institutional transformation under the leadership of Director General Abraham Billy, as the agency embarks on an ambitious drive to improve its infrastructure, strengthen its operations, and enhance the delivery of technical and vocational education services across Liberia.
Since assuming office, Director General Billy has prioritized restoring the institution after inheriting what officials described as a severely deteriorated facility marked by aging infrastructure, inadequate maintenance, and an environment that required immediate rehabilitation.
Recent photographs of the institution reveal a remarkable turnaround, highlighting the extensive improvements made to the AITB compound, particularly at the Monrovia Vocational Training Center. Once characterized by neglected surroundings, the facility now presents a cleaner, more organized, and well-maintained environment that reflects the administration’s commitment to institutional renewal and operational excellence.
The ongoing rehabilitation effort forms part of a broader strategy aimed at repositioning AITB as a modern and efficient institution capable of effectively fulfilling its national mandate in technical and vocational education and training.
Working alongside Director General Billy are Deputy Directors General Wesley D.M. Nyenatoh Sr. and Hon. Alphanso Paye Korto Sr., whose contributions have been instrumental in implementing reforms designed to improve the institution’s capacity, governance, and service delivery.
As Liberia’s lead institution for technical and vocational education standards, the Agriculture Industrial Training Bureau is mandated to develop and implement a unified Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) curriculum, accredit vocational and technical training institutions, administer trade testing and certification, and train instructors to meet the country’s evolving workforce demands.
The Bureau’s renewed focus on institutional development and quality assurance is expected to strengthen Liberia’s TVET sector by producing a more skilled, competitive, and industry-ready workforce capable of supporting national economic growth and sustainable development.
