QNET Outlines Measures Against Brand Misuse as Liberian, Sierra Leonean Journalists Share Malaysia Visit Experiences

MONROVIA, Liberia — QNET, an international lifestyle and wellness company, has outlined measures it says are aimed at addressing the misuse of its name and products, as journalists from Liberia and Sierra Leone shared their experiences following a visit to the company’s headquarters in Malaysia.

The company discussed its compliance procedures, distributor oversight and public awareness initiatives during a media webinar held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, in connection with QNET VCON Malaysia 2026. The session was hosted by Amin Kef Sesay, Managing Editor of The Calabash Newspaper.

During the webinar, Cherif Sarr, QNET’s Regional General Manager for West and Central Africa, said the company does not authorize the use of its name in scams, misleading job offers, coercive practices or illegal cross-border activities.

Sarr said QNET had terminated 141 distributor accounts for non-compliance between 2025 and the date of the briefing. He stated that 26 of the accounts were linked to facilitating false cross-border movement.

He further reported that the company had referred 158 cases to relevant authorities and assisted more than 3,000 people in returning to their countries or families. These figures were provided by QNET during the webinar and were not independently verified for this report.

Sarr also outlined a Business 2U accreditation process that, according to the company, requires independent distributors to undergo verification, meet applicable regulatory requirements and obtain authorization before operating independent offices.

QNET encouraged the public to report suspicious offices and individuals claiming to represent the company. It said reports of suspected misuse could help the company and relevant authorities investigate potentially fraudulent activities.

Company Highlights Compliance and Awareness Initiatives

Marlene Keur, Head of Communications and Global Public Relations at QI Group, QNET’s parent company, described the company’s business model as one in which independent distributors promote and sell products and earn commissions from product sales rather than recruitment.

Keur said QNET maintains a public compliance portal outlining its code of conduct and identifying prohibited practices, which the company refers to as “red-line” offences.

She said the framework is intended to communicate the standards expected of distributors and address conduct that falls outside the company’s stated policies.

QNET also discussed its “QNET Against Scams” campaign, launched in August 2024. According to the company, the initiative seeks to raise public awareness about fraudulent schemes and provide channels for reporting suspected scams.

The company said the campaign had been implemented in Ghana, Sierra Leone and Senegal, with plans to expand its reach to other countries.

The measures outlined during the webinar reflect QNET’s stated approach to addressing the misuse of its brand. Their effectiveness, however, depends on implementation, oversight and cooperation with relevant authorities.

Journalists Recount Experiences at QNET’s Malaysia Headquarters

The webinar also featured accounts from journalists who visited QNET’s headquarters in Malaysia in September to learn more about the company’s facilities, products and operations.

Cecilia Sesay, a television presenter at the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation, described the visit as an informative experience that gave her an opportunity to observe the company’s operations and engage with its representatives.

She said the visit included exposure to QNET’s offices and products, as well as discussions with company management. During a press conference in Malaysia, Sesay said she raised questions about the company’s identity and the reported misuse of its name and products in Liberia and Sierra Leone.

Blamo Toe, a reporter with Liberian Investigator in Liberia, also shared his account of the visit.

Toe outlined activities that included a tour of QNET’s headquarters and product gallery, a company briefing, a visit to QI University and attendance at the opening ceremony of VCON Malaysia 2026.

The event brought together independent distributors from various countries, according to the account presented during the webinar.

Toe also described an exclusive press conference with QNET executives, where journalists had the opportunity to ask questions about the company’s operations and related concerns.

The journalists said their participation allowed them to engage directly with company representatives and obtain additional information about QNET. Their observations reflect their experiences during the visit and do not, by themselves, independently establish the legitimacy of every business opportunity or distributor associated with the brand.

Continued Focus on Public Awareness

QNET said it intends to continue engaging with media organizations and relevant authorities to provide information about its business model and address cases involving the alleged misuse of its name.

The company added that, since 2022, it has invited journalists and social media influencers from across Africa to visit its Malaysian headquarters and attend VCON, its flagship international conference.

According to QNET, the visits are intended to give participants firsthand exposure to its products, operations, business model and challenges, enabling them to share their observations with colleagues and the public.

The webinar provided a platform for QNET representatives to explain the company’s policies and for participating journalists to recount their experiences in Malaysia. The discussions also highlighted the importance of independent reporting, transparent business practices and public awareness in addressing concerns about fraudulent schemes.

Members of the public are encouraged to verify business claims, carefully assess recruitment and product-selling opportunities, and report suspected fraud to the appropriate authorities.
