Monrovia, Liberia – The Reporters Association of Liberia (RAL) has extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all Liberians at home and abroad as the nation celebrates its 179th Independence Anniversary.
In an Independence Day message, the Association described the occasion as a significant milestone that calls on Liberians to reflect on the country’s rich history, celebrate its achievements, and renew their commitment to national unity, peace, and sustainable development.
RAL noted that, as Africa’s first independent republic, Liberia continues to carry the historic responsibility of promoting democracy, peace, and stability across the continent while inspiring future generations through its enduring legacy.
The Association also paid special tribute to journalists and media practitioners across the country, recognizing their unwavering dedication to defending press freedom, promoting accountability, and informing the public.
According to the statement, the commitment of Liberian journalists to truth, fairness, and responsible reporting has remained instrumental in strengthening democratic governance and supporting national development.
RAL further called on all Liberians to use the Independence Day celebration as an opportunity to renew their patriotism, uphold the values that unite the nation, and work collectively toward a more peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous Liberia.
The Association concluded by wishing all Liberians a joyful and memorable Independence Day celebration.
