GANTA, NIMBA COUNTY — Nimba County District #9 Representative Taa Z. Wongbe has awarded L$150,000 to the district’s sports team in recognition of its impressive performance at the recently concluded Inter-District Peace Tournament.
The presentation followed the team’s second-place finish in the competition, where players demonstrated determination, discipline, and strong competitive spirit while representing their district.
During a meeting with the players and team officials in Ganta, Representative Wongbe praised their commitment and congratulated them for reaching the tournament’s final stages, describing their performance as a source of pride for the district.
The financial contribution, valued at One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Liberian Dollars (L$150,000), was presented as an expression of appreciation for the team’s efforts and contribution to promoting the district through sports.
Representative Wongbe also emphasized the role of sports in fostering peaceful coexistence, strengthening community bonds, encouraging discipline, and providing young people with constructive opportunities.
His engagement with the team underscores the importance of supporting youth participation in sporting activities as a means of promoting unity and positive development across Electoral District #9.
