Monrovia, Liberia – Small Town Football Academy Female Team has announced the signing of experienced Ghanaian goalkeeper Mary Neequaye on a two-year contract as the club strengthens its squad ahead of the new Liberia Football Association (LFA) Women’s Upper Division season.
The announcement was made by the club’s President, Melton Yoko, who described the signing as a major boost to the team’s ambitions.
“We are excited to announce the signing of Ghanaian goalkeeper Mary Neequaye for two seasons. Please join us in welcoming her to the Small Town Football Academy family. She brings a wealth of experience and will play an important role in mentoring and supporting the younger players we have signed,” Yoko said.
Small Town Football Academy concluded the recently ended 2025/26 LFA Women’s Upper Division League in third place, a strong finish that underlines the club’s continued progress and determination to compete for top honors.
Yoko said the signing also reflects the club’s commitment to empowering girls through football while embracing diversity.
“Our efforts are focused on empowering girls through football regardless of tribe, culture, or nationality. We are proud to welcome a talented Ghanaian goalkeeper to our club as we continue building a competitive team and developing young talent,” he said.
Mary Neequaye is expected to add quality and leadership to the squad as Small Town Football Academy prepares for the upcoming season, with the club hopeful that her experience will help strengthen its challenge for silverware.
