MONROVIA, Liberia – The Sinoe County Administration, under the leadership of Superintendent Hon. Alexander Nah Sleweon, has held its first official coordination meeting with members of the Sinoe County Legislative Caucus, signaling a renewed commitment to stronger cooperation in advancing the county’s development priorities.
The meeting, held in Monrovia on Thursday, August 6, brought together county authorities and lawmakers to discuss ways of improving coordination, harmonizing development efforts, and fostering closer collaboration in the delivery of projects and essential public services across Sinoe County.
Discussions centered on several critical challenges confronting the county, including the growing threat of illegal mining activities within the Sapo National Park. Participants examined measures to curb the unlawful operations and strengthen enforcement efforts to protect the country’s largest protected rainforest. The meeting also addressed concerns over the reported illegal activities of some Burkinabe nationals in parts of the county, as well as broader governance issues aimed at improving public administration, enhancing community participation, and ensuring adherence to national laws and policies.
Members of the Legislative Caucus commended the County Administration for the progress recorded in implementing development initiatives and welcomed the opportunity for direct engagement. They reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with the Administration to promote good governance, improve public service delivery, and support initiatives that will drive sustainable development throughout Sinoe County.
Among those attending the meeting were Representative Thomas Romeo Quioh, Representative Hon. Alex S. Noah, Senator S. Augustine Chea, and Senator Crayton O. Duncan, reflecting a united effort by the county’s elected leaders to advance the interests of their constituents.
The meeting concluded with a collective pledge to maintain regular consultation, strengthen institutional cooperation, and pursue coordinated actions that will contribute to the county’s long-term growth and development.
County officials described the engagement as an important step toward building stronger partnerships among Sinoe’s leadership, emphasizing that unity, collaboration, and shared responsibility remain essential to achieving lasting progress for the people of the county.
