Monrovia, Liberia – Maryland County Senator J. Gbleh-bo Brown has endorsed Wantoe’s candidacy for Vice Chairperson for International Affairs of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), expressing support for his proposed approach to strengthening the party’s international relations and institutional development.

In a message addressed to Wantoe, Brown said he had followed his public engagements, including a recent radio talk show appearance during which he formally declared his intention to contest for the position at the party’s forthcoming national convention.

The senator said Wantoe’s proposal to build international partnerships could help expand the CDC’s engagement beyond Liberia and improve its standing among political institutions abroad.

He noted that while maintaining its grassroots support remains important, the party must also develop stronger institutional structures, clear policies and long-term strategies to sustain its political relevance.

Brown stressed that the CDC needs institutional and policy reforms to strengthen its organizational capacity and maintain its contribution to Liberia’s political development.

In his message, the Maryland County senator stated that he supports Wantoe’s ambition and looks forward to working with him and his team should they assume responsibility for the party’s international affairs portfolio.

“I strongly support ur desire to mobilize global partnerships for a stronger CDC,” Brown wrote, adding that the party needs to strengthen its international acceptability while preserving its grassroots foundation.

He further urged the prospective leadership team to focus not only on mobilizing support within the party but also on developing policies and plans that would reinforce the CDC as a political institution.

Brown concluded his message by reaffirming his support for Wantoe’s candidacy and expressing his willingness to collaborate with him and his team.

The endorsement comes ahead of the CDC’s forthcoming national convention, where party members are expected to determine leadership positions and the direction of the organization.
