Monrovia, Liberia — Pleebo Sodoken District Representative Anthony F. Williams has provided financial support to the Maryland County Quizzing Team, which is currently being hosted at the Police Academy in Paynesville City.
Rep. Williams donated US$100 and LRD$60,000 to help offset the team’s transportation and feeding expenses as the young scholars prepare to represent Maryland County in the ongoing academic competition.
During a visit to the team, Rep. Williams, a former quizzer and student leader, encouraged the students to remain focused, confident, and disciplined throughout their participation.
He reminded the team that representing Maryland County carries both a responsibility and an opportunity to showcase the county’s academic potential.
The lawmaker urged the students to believe in their abilities, maintain teamwork, and give their best in the competition, emphasizing that their academic efforts contribute to the future development of Maryland County.
The Maryland County Quizzing Team expressed appreciation to Rep. Williams for the financial assistance and encouragement, describing the support as timely as they continue their preparations.
Rep. Williams has continued to publicly emphasize education and youth empowerment as areas requiring sustained investment, particularly in supporting young people pursuing academic and leadership opportunities.
