Monrovia, Liberia – President of the National Custom Brokers Association, James L. Hinneh, has expressed strong support for the official launch of the Child Protection Initiative (CPI), describing the event as a historic step toward safeguarding the rights and future of Liberia’s children.
Speaking during the grand launch parade from the Sports Commission to PHP Park in Monrovia, Hinneh said he was honored to stand alongside children, young people, advocates, and supporters committed to building a safer future for every child.
As the father of Jamelia Hinneh, Chief Executive Officer of the Child Protection Initiative, Hinneh said he was deeply proud to witness his daughter’s leadership in championing the protection, education, and empowerment of children.
He noted that many children in Liberia continue to face challenges such as abuse, child labour, neglect, and limited access to quality education, emphasizing that protecting children is a shared responsibility.
“Every child deserves to feel safe, loved, protected, and empowered to dream,” Hinneh said. “If we work together as parents, communities, leaders, organizations, and citizens, we can build a Liberia where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.”
He described the launch as more than just the unveiling of a new organization, calling it “a commitment to our children and to the future of our nation.”
Hinneh congratulated Jamelia Hinneh and the entire Child Protection Initiative team, pledging his support for the organization’s mission to protect children and create opportunities for them to reach their full potential.
The Child Protection Initiative aims to advocate for children’s rights, promote their safety and well-being, and mobilize communities to ensure every child in Liberia enjoys a secure and hopeful future.
