LFA Expels FC Fassell President Cassell Kuoh Over Statutory Violations‎

By: Ambkaee Benedict Browne

‎MONROVIA, Liberia – The Liberia Football Association Grievance and Disciplinary Committee has expelled FC Fassell President and Chief Executive Officer, Cassell Anthony Kuoh, from the Association and banned him from all football-related activities for violating the Association’s statutes.

‎The decision follows a formal complaint filed by J. Melton N. Yoko, President of the Small Town Football Academy, alleging that Kuoh breached both LFA and FIFA statutes by taking a football-related dispute to an ordinary court in an attempt to challenge the Association’s electoral process.

‎Following what it described as a comprehensive investigation, the Committee, chaired by Acting Chairman Jenkins D.N. Pelenah Sr., concluded that Kuoh’s decision to seek an injunction against the LFA through the civil court system constituted a serious violation of the Association’s governing rules.

‎According to the Committee, Kuoh’s actions contravened Article 18, Subsections 18.3(J) and (K), as well as Article 19 of the LFA Statutes, which require that all football-related disputes be resolved exclusively through the Association’s designated arbitration mechanisms rather than ordinary courts.

‎The Committee further determined that the legal action amounted to undue third-party interference in the LFA’s internal governance and electoral processes, placing Kuoh in violation of Articles 2, 18.3, and 19 of the LFA Statutes (as amended), in addition to Article 51 of the FIFA Statutes.

‎Citing Chapter 15, Article 27 of the 2018 LFA Approved Statutes (as amended), which provides for the forfeiture of membership in cases involving serious statutory violations or the improper use of ordinary courts, the Committee unanimously ordered Kuoh’s expulsion.

‎As a result of the ruling, Cassell Anthony Kuoh has been expelled from membership in the Liberia Football Association and barred from participating in all football-related activities under the authority of the LFA, FIFA, Confederation of African Football, and West African Football Union.

‎The ruling marks one of the strongest disciplinary actions taken by the Liberia Football Association in recent years and underscores the governing body’s commitment to enforcing its statutes and preserving the integrity of football administration in Liberia.
