Helping Hands Foundation Provides School Supplies to 45 Students in Margib

LOWER MARGIBI COUNTY, Liberia — Forty-five students of Kolu Sokodolo International Daycare School in Smell No Taste, along the Roberts International Airport (RIA) Highway in Lower Margibi County, have benefited from an educational support initiative by the Helping Hands Humanitarian Foundation under its 2026 Back-to-School Program.

The initiative provided students with essential learning materials, including copybooks, pencils, sharpeners and erasers, while two outstanding students received school bags in recognition of their academic performance.

Speaking at the program, Helping Hands Humanitarian Foundation Chief Executive Officer Leo Gibson emphasized the importance of supporting children’s education, noting that access to basic learning materials is essential to helping students prepare for school and pursue their academic ambitions.

Gibson highlighted the foundation’s commitment to supporting young learners and contributing to their educational development through community-based humanitarian interventions.

He also stressed the importance of collective efforts in creating better opportunities for children, noting that investing in education is vital to building stronger communities and a brighter future for Liberia.

The distribution at Kolu Sokodolo International Daycare School marked the first stop in the foundation’s 2026 Back-to-School Program, which seeks to assist students by providing essential educational supplies.

For families facing financial challenges, the cost of school materials can create additional pressure as they prepare their children for the classroom. The foundation’s intervention is intended to help ease some of that burden while encouraging students to remain committed to their education.

The recognition of two outstanding students also highlighted the importance of academic commitment and achievement. By presenting school bags to the students, the foundation sought to encourage continued dedication to learning and inspire other pupils to strive for excellence.

The program reflects the role of humanitarian organizations in supporting educational development, particularly through initiatives that address students’ basic needs and encourage participation in school.

Through its 2026 Back-to-School Program, the Helping Hands Humanitarian Foundation aims to inspire young minds, support children’s educational journeys and contribute to building brighter futures.

The foundation reaffirmed its message of collective responsibility in advancing children’s education, stating: “Together, we are inspiring young minds and building brighter futures.”
