HARPER, Maryland County – Maryland County Senator J. Gblehbo Brown has called on Liberians to embrace unity, reconciliation, and collective national development as the country marks its 179th Independence Anniversary.
In his Independence Day message, Senator Brown described July 26 as more than a national holiday, saying it is a symbol of Liberia’s enduring journey of freedom, resilience, and hope. He paid tribute to the nation’s founding fathers and all those who have contributed to preserving Liberia’s peace and democratic progress.
The Maryland County lawmaker urged citizens to renew their commitment to peaceful coexistence, selfless service, and nation-building, stressing that Liberia’s future depends on the willingness of its people to overcome divisions and work together for the common good.
Addressing the people of Maryland County, Senator Brown expressed appreciation for their continued trust and support, while reaffirming his commitment to advancing education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, youth empowerment, and women’s development across the county.
He also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of Liberians in the diaspora, noting that their investment, patriotism, and support remain essential to the country’s growth and development.
”As we commemorate this historic day, let us stand united with renewed faith in our country and confidence that brighter days lie ahead for Maryland County and Liberia,” Senator Brown said.
He concluded by wishing all Liberians a joyful Independence Day and prayed for God’s continued guidance, peace, unity, and prosperity for the nation.
