GRAND CAPE MOUNT COUNTY — Harrison Rokazima Seh, a visually impaired community advocate popularly known as “Puyol” across Gola Konneh District, has officially declared his intention to contest the 2029 Representative election for Grand Cape Mount County Electoral District #1.
Speaking with reporters over the weekend, Seh said his decision to enter the race is motivated by a desire to improve the living conditions of residents and promote people-centered development. He emphasized that political leadership should be measured by service and results rather than financial influence.
The aspiring lawmaker disclosed that he and his campaign team will soon begin engaging citizens across towns and villages in Gola Konneh District to present their vision and development agenda ahead of the 2029 elections.
According to Seh, his campaign will focus on unity, respect, and issue-based politics rather than personal attacks against political opponents. He said he is committed to presenting practical solutions to the district’s challenges and believes voters should support leaders with a genuine commitment to development.
Seh stressed that his visual impairment should not be viewed as a limitation to effective leadership. He argued that disability does not diminish one’s ability to serve, noting that he possesses the leadership skills, influence, and determination needed to advocate for the district and attract development opportunities.
“If elected, I will work tirelessly to ensure that the voices of the people are heard and that our district receives the development it deserves,” he said.
The District #1 hopeful also pledged to prioritize legislative oversight, emphasizing that an effective representative must ensure government institutions, concession companies, and development partners fulfill their obligations to the people.
Commenting on the operations of Bea Mountain Mining Company, Seh acknowledged the company’s contributions to road construction, scholarships, women’s empowerment, and healthcare initiatives. However, he expressed concern over what he described as shortcomings in the implementation of community development programs and the management of relations between the company and affected communities.
He said addressing those concerns through dialogue and effective oversight would be among his priorities if elected.
As part of his development agenda, Seh promised to advocate for increased employment opportunities for young people and work toward establishing a vocational and technical training institution in the district to equip unemployed and unskilled youth with marketable skills.
He concluded by encouraging the youth of Gola Konneh District, regardless of their educational background, to participate actively in the political process, stressing that inclusive participation is essential to advancing development and improving the welfare of citizens throughout the district.
