Capitol Hill, Liberia – The Office of Maryland County Senator J. Gbleh-bo Brown has dismissed attempts to link the lawmaker to allegations involving his foster son, insisting that Senator Brown is not a subject of any criminal investigation and has not been accused of any offence.
In a statement released Saturday, the Senator’s office said recent public commentary and social media discussions have sought to associate the Senator with allegations that concern another individual. It maintained that such claims are misleading and lack any legal basis.
The office emphasized that, under Liberia’s laws, every individual is accountable for their own conduct, adding that allegations against one person should not be used to implicate another who has not been accused of wrongdoing.
“Every individual is personally responsible for his or her own actions under the law. Any allegation concerning another person should not be transferred to or used to judge Senator J. Gbleh-bo Brown, who has neither been accused nor implicated in any criminal wrongdoing,” the statement said.
According to the release, Senator Brown remains committed to the rule of law and respects the constitutional rights of every citizen, including the right to due process and the presumption of innocence until proven guilty by a competent court.
The office also expressed confidence in Liberia’s justice system, urging authorities to conduct any investigation fairly, independently, and in accordance with the law.
It further called on the media and the public to exercise restraint by avoiding the publication or circulation of unverified claims capable of damaging the Senator’s reputation or creating the false impression that he bears responsibility for allegations involving another individual.
Reaffirming the Senator’s commitment to public service, the office said Senator Brown remains focused on representing the interests of the people of Maryland County and thanked constituents for their continued confidence and support
