MONROVIA, Liberia — River Gee County senatorial hopeful Cllr. Kunkunyon Teh says the Nyenebo Road Project is expected to begin this weekend with a groundbreaking ceremony, in a move that could address longstanding transportation and road connectivity challenges in the southeastern county.
Teh’s announcement places road infrastructure at the centre of attention as communities continue to look to improved transportation networks to support local commerce, facilitate travel and expand access to essential services.
Reliable roads are critical to the movement of agricultural produce, the transportation of goods and the connection of rural communities to markets, healthcare facilities and educational institutions. Poor road conditions, particularly during the rainy season, can complicate travel and increase the cost of moving people and goods.
The planned groundbreaking is expected to formally mark the start of the Nyenebo initiative. However, details regarding its financing, construction timeline, implementing partners and the specific sections of road to be covered have not yet been disclosed.
Further information will be needed to establish the project’s full scope, anticipated duration and expected benefits for residents and road users.
The announcement comes amid broader development concerns in River Gee, where road infrastructure remains an important factor in economic activity, public service delivery and connections between communities
