MONROVIA, Liberia – Attorney Siaffa Bahn Kemokai, Chief of Office Staff to Justice Minister and Attorney-General Cllr. N. Oswald Tweh, on Wednesday led the Ministry of Justice’s representation at a major Anti-Mob Violence Campaign in Doe Community, reaffirming the government’s unwavering commitment to ending mob justice and strengthening public confidence in Liberia’s legal system.
The campaign, organized in collaboration with the Center for the Exchange of Intellectual Opinion (CEIO), is part of a nationwide initiative spearheaded by Minister Tweh to confront the growing threat of mob violence through public education, community engagement, and the promotion of the rule of law.
Representing the Justice Minister, Attorney Kemokai stressed that mob violence remains a serious criminal offense that undermines the country’s justice system, violates fundamental human rights, and threatens national peace and security. He urged community members to reject acts of vigilantism and instead cooperate with law enforcement authorities by reporting crimes and allowing the courts to administer justice.
He emphasized that every individual accused of a crime is entitled to due process under the law, warning that taking justice into one’s own hands only fuels lawlessness and weakens public trust in state institutions.
The Ministry of Justice, under the leadership of Cllr. Tweh, has intensified efforts to educate citizens on the dangers of mob justice while encouraging stronger partnerships between communities, civil society organizations, and law enforcement agencies to promote accountability and peaceful conflict resolution.
The campaign concluded with a renewed call for Liberians to uphold the rule of law and embrace lawful means of addressing criminal activities.

The Ministry says it will continue expanding the anti-mob violence campaign to communities across Liberia as part of its broader mission to safeguard lives, protect human rights, and ensure justice for all.
