FISH TOWN, River Gee County — Lawyer Cllr. Kunkunyon Teh has departed Monrovia for River Gee County, accompanied by his wife and a delegation, following the arrival of heavy-duty equipment he brought from China to support road rehabilitation initiatives across the county.
The equipment, popularly known as “yellow machines,” is currently in Fish Town, the county’s capital, ahead of planned infrastructure works in several communities.
En route to River Gee, Cllr. Teh and his delegation stopped in Grand Gedeh County, where River Gee citizens residing there gathered to welcome him and bid him farewell as he continued his journey.
During his interaction with the citizens, Cllr. Teh clarified that bringing the equipment to the county was not intended to compete with the Government of Liberia. Rather, he described the initiative as a contribution toward addressing transportation challenges, particularly in remote communities where poor road conditions limit access and connectivity.
Cllr. Teh is expected to officially break ground on the Nyenebo Road Project this weekend, with additional initiatives anticipated in other parts of the county.
As the delegation proceeds to River Gee, attention will focus on the commencement of the planned projects, the deployment of the equipment, and the communities expected to benefit from the initiative.
Residents and observers will be watching closely to see how the undertaking translates into tangible results for communities across the county.
