Greenville, Sinoe County – Sinoe County is set to host an awareness campaign aimed at encouraging more women to join the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL), following a visit by a delegation from the Ministry of National Defense and the AFL to the Office of the County Superintendent.
The delegation, headed by Junior Aloysius Morris, met with Superintendent Alexander Nah Sleweon to outline the objectives of the campaign, which seeks to educate women, youth, elders, and community leaders about career opportunities within the AFL and the growing role of women in national security.
The initiative aligns with the Women, Peace and Security Agenda under the United Nations Security Council Resolution, which advocates for the full, equal, and meaningful participation of women in peacebuilding, conflict prevention, leadership, and security matters.
Superintendent Sleweon welcomed the delegation and expressed strong support for the initiative, urging women across Sinoe County to participate in the awareness session and consider serving their country through the Armed Forces of Liberia.
The awareness program will take place on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the Conference Hall of the County Administrative Building in Greenville.
Organizers are encouraging women, youth, community leaders, and other stakeholders to attend and learn more about the recruitment process and the opportunities available for women in the AFL.
