MONROVIA – The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) has commenced a four-week induction training program for its newly recruited contract staff, reinforcing its commitment to developing a competent and professional workforce capable of supporting the country’s domestic revenue mobilization efforts.
The training, organized by the Human Resources Management Division through its Training and Capacity Development Unit, began on July 28 and will conclude on August 21, 2026.
The induction program is designed to equip new employees with the knowledge, skills, and institutional values needed to perform effectively.
Participants are receiving training in key areas, including human resources management, domestic tax administration, performance management, workplace ethics, tax auditing, enterprise risk management, taxpayer services, financial investigations, national revenue accounting, and tax compliance.
To ensure a practical learning experience, the program combines classroom instruction with hands-on exercises, group discussions, and daily reflection sessions facilitated by experienced LRA professionals.
Speaking on the initiative, Simpson Klay, Manager for Training and Manpower Development, said the induction program demonstrates the Authority’s commitment to building a skilled workforce dedicated to advancing revenue collection and national development.
He noted that the training provides new employees with a solid understanding of their responsibilities and the LRA’s core principles from the outset of their careers.
Through continuous investment in staff development, the LRA aims to strengthen its institutional capacity while promoting professionalism, integrity, transparency, and excellence in revenue administration across Liberia.
