MONROVIA, Liberia – Nimba County District #7 Representative Musa Hassan Bility has praised President Joseph Nyuma Boakai for dismissing and suspending several government officials allegedly linked to ongoing narcotics investigations, describing the move as a bold step in the fight against drug trafficking.
In a statement issued Thursday, Bility said the President’s actions demonstrate leadership and accountability, adding that Liberians had demanded decisive action rather than excuses.
“The President’s decision to dismiss and suspend several government officials is a positive step in the right direction… Good job. Thank you for doing your job,” Bility said.
The lawmaker urged the government to sustain the crackdown and ensure that everyone implicated in the drug cases is investigated and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
President Boakai’s directive followed major cocaine seizures at Roberts International Airport and in Paynesville, leading to the dismissal, suspension, and investigation of several officials from key government institutions.
