Monrovia, Liberia – The Governance Commission (GC) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Insurance Corporation of Liberia (NICOL) to provide comprehensive health insurance coverage for its employees, their spouses, and eligible dependents.
The agreement, signed at the Commission’s Conference Hall in Sinkor, underscores the GC’s commitment to enhancing staff welfare by ensuring employees and their families have access to quality healthcare services.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, Executive Director Jallah C. Kesselly said the initiative reflects the Commission’s dedication to fostering a supportive workplace and easing the financial burden associated with medical expenses.
NICOL’s Acting Managing Director, Abdullah S. Swaray, described the partnership as an important milestone in strengthening collaboration between public institutions. He emphasized that investing in the health and well-being of government employees is essential to improving public service delivery.
According to Mr. Swaray, the health insurance program will provide staff and their eligible dependents with timely access to medical care, promote better health outcomes, and contribute to increased productivity in the workplace.
The agreement represents another step in the Governance Commission’s ongoing efforts to improve employee welfare while reinforcing institutional effectiveness and advancing its mandate of promoting good governance, accountability, and public sector reform in Liberia.
