River Gee Superintendent Swengbe Applauds Dopoh for 400-Plus Chairs Donation

FISH TOWN, River Gee County — River Gee County Superintendent Mike T. Swengbe has commended Senator Francis Dopoh for donating more than 400 chairs to government offices, public institutions and community structures across the county.

The donation was formally presented Monday during a handover ceremony at the Superintendent’s Compound in Fish Town, with the furniture expected to help address longstanding shortages in several public facilities.

The chairs will be distributed across River Gee’s 10 administrative districts, as well as the Office of the County Superintendent, the River Gee County Youth Wing, the River Gee Women Association, the Joint Security and selected health centers.

Superintendent Swengbe described the intervention as a practical contribution to improving the working environment within the county’s public institutions.

He said inadequate seating and basic office furniture have remained challenges for several government offices and service centers, affecting both employees and residents who depend on those facilities.

Swengbe said Senator Dopoh’s donation goes beyond the provision of furniture, arguing that adequate facilities are essential to maintaining dignity and improving the delivery of public services.

“This is not simply about providing chairs. It is about creating a better environment for public servants to work and for citizens to access government services,” Swengbe said.

The superintendent expressed appreciation to Senator Dopoh on behalf of the county’s leadership and residents, describing the donation as an example of cooperation between elected representatives and local government.

He also assured that the chairs would be distributed fairly among the designated beneficiaries and maintained for their intended public use.

Swengbe subsequently encouraged other lawmakers, government officials, development partners and private stakeholders to support county institutions through initiatives that respond to practical needs at the local level.

Representatives from the women’s and youth sectors, the Joint Security and the health sector also welcomed the donation, saying the additional furniture would strengthen working conditions in the institutions and communities receiving the support.
