MONROVIA, LIBERIA: The Deesire Moore Grace Foundation is preparing to launch the third edition of its annual Back-to-School Week, with plans to provide educational support to hundreds of students and schools across Liberia.
The foundation said this year’s initiative will reach more than 250 students through the distribution of essential school supplies. In addition, the organization plans to visit more than 10 schools to provide critical educational materials, including chairs, desks, and other items identified as necessary to support the learning environment.
Beyond the distribution of supplies, the foundation is also expected to provide school-fee assistance to more than 30 students, further expanding the initiative beyond material donations to direct support for students facing financial challenges.
The foundation acknowledged that the 2026 programme has been postponed slightly from its original schedule. Organizers said the adjustment is intended to provide additional time for planning, coordination, and effective implementation of the various activities.
To facilitate the programme, the foundation has established two teams and committees responsible for coordinating different aspects of the initiative. The committees are being led by Director of Education Jaryenneh Zor and Director of Arts Johnson Myyannan Kpawin Jr.
The annual initiative is part of the foundation’s broader commitment to education and community development. Through the Back-to-School Week, the organization seeks to help students begin the academic year with essential learning materials while also supporting schools with resources that can improve their learning environments.
