MONROVIA, Liberia – The 13th Judicial Circuit Court in Margibi County has sentenced Quati “Quita” Dolo to five years in prison after she pleaded guilty to charges linked to the high-profile drug trafficking case at Roberts International Airport (RIA).
Resident Judge Victoria Duncan imposed the sentence after approving a plea bargain agreement between the prosecution and the defense. The court found that Dolo voluntarily admitted guilt and fully understood the legal consequences of her plea before accepting the agreement.
By pleading guilty, Dolo accepted responsibility for her role in the narcotics trafficking operation uncovered following the seizure of a significant quantity of illegal drugs at Liberia’s main international airport. The plea agreement allowed the case against her to be resolved without a full trial.
Following her conviction, Judge Duncan ordered Dolo to serve a five-year prison term at a correctional facility designated by the Ministry of Justice.
The RIA drug trafficking case emerged after authorities intercepted a major shipment of illegal narcotics, triggering an extensive investigation that resulted in multiple arrests and criminal indictments.
During the court proceedings, state prosecutors confirmed that Dolo had admitted her involvement in the offenses, paving the way for the negotiated plea agreement.
The Ministry of Justice has consistently reaffirmed its commitment to aggressively pursuing drug trafficking cases as part of the government’s broader campaign against organized crime and the illegal narcotics trade.
With Dolo now convicted and sentenced, the court is expected to continue proceedings against the remaining defendants, whose cases are still pending.
