Rep. Samson Quejue Wiah Calls for National Unity, Gratitude in Thanksgiving Day Message

MONROVIA, LIBERIA — Representative Samson Quejue Wiah of District #2, Sinoe County, has called on Christians and the wider Liberian public to embrace gratitude, promote national unity, and demonstrate compassion as the country joins the global Christian community in observing Thanksgiving Day.

In a goodwill message marking the occasion, Rep. Wiah described Thanksgiving as an opportunity for spiritual reflection, appreciation, and renewed commitment to the values of peace, love, humility, and service to humanity.

He noted that despite the difficulties confronting individuals, families, and communities, the occasion serves as a reminder of God’s faithfulness, protection, and provision, encouraging citizens to remain hopeful and appreciative.

The lawmaker emphasized that Thanksgiving should extend beyond acknowledging personal achievements and material blessings, urging citizens to demonstrate kindness, support vulnerable members of society, and contribute meaningfully to the well-being of others.

“Thanksgiving is a time to acknowledge the grace, mercy, protection, and provisions of Almighty God. Beyond expressing gratitude for our individual blessings, we must renew our commitment to love, peace, charity, and service to one another. Our gratitude should be reflected in how we treat and support our fellow citizens,” Rep. Wiah stated.

Rep. Wiah further encouraged Christian institutions, families, and communities to use the occasion to strengthen family relationships, promote peaceful coexistence, and pray for Liberia’s continued peace, stability, and national development.

He stressed that unity, mutual understanding, and collective responsibility remain essential to building a peaceful and progressive society, urging Liberians to rise above their differences and prioritize the common good of the nation.

The Sinoe County lawmaker concluded by extending warm Thanksgiving greetings to Christians and families throughout Liberia, wishing them a peaceful, joyful, and spiritually fulfilling celebration.
