MONROVIA, LIBERIA — Former Assistant Gender Minister Mamensie Kabba has marked her birthday by extending support to vulnerable families and organizing a special celebration for children in Bassa Town, Doe Community, Montserrado County District #14.
The outreach, held on Saturday, October 31, 2026, followed her birthday celebration on October 23 and formed part of her longstanding commitment to community service through her Give Back To My Society Initiative.
The program brought together children and vulnerable community members for a day of humanitarian support, educational activities, and entertainment.
As part of the celebration, children participated in quiz competitions, singing and dancing contests, and other recreational activities. Educational materials, including copybooks, pencils, and pens, were distributed, alongside popcorn, candies, biscuits, and other refreshments.
Kabba said the annual October initiative provides an opportunity for her to reconnect with members of her community, particularly children and families experiencing economic hardship.
She explained that her passion for supporting vulnerable people stems from her childhood experiences, recalling the financial difficulties her parents faced in providing daily meals and other basic necessities for their children.
According to her, growing up under challenging circumstances has strengthened her determination to support disadvantaged children and create moments of happiness for them.
“Every child deserves to be happy,” Kabba emphasized, explaining that her desire to put smiles on children’s faces is rooted in her personal experiences and appreciation of the challenges many families face.
She further disclosed that the Give Back To My Society Initiative was established in 2018 by her and her team to extend support to vulnerable individuals and groups, including children, women, young people, and disadvantaged families.
Beyond providing material assistance, Kabba said the initiative also seeks to encourage children to prioritize education and develop the values needed to become responsible citizens.
Her interest in promoting academic excellence, she noted, is influenced by her high school experience as a quizzer and debate captain.
Meanwhile, the former Assistant Gender Minister expressed gratitude to several individuals whose contributions helped make the outreach successful.
Those acknowledged included Senator Abe Darius Dillon, Ahmed Tejan Diallo, Representative Alex Sonnyboy Noah, Representative Shahbaaz Jalloh, and Rufus N. Mandein.
She also recognized members of her organizing team, including Comrade Kasumo Kelleh, Hannah Fallah, Mohammed S. Dukuly, Ally Christian Nyanti, Tboy Neuer, Hawa Konneh, Mariama King, and others.
Kabba particularly commended Kasumo Kelleh, Chairman of the Planning and Organizing Committee, for his commitment and coordination throughout the planning and implementation of the program.
She described the collective support of her team members and other well-wishers as instrumental to the success of the outreach, expressing appreciation for their dedication.
The annual activity forms part of Kabba’s community engagement efforts in Montserrado County District #14, combining humanitarian assistance with educational encouragement and recreational opportunities for children.
