DORGBOR TOWN, Nimba County – Nimba County District #9 Representative Taa Z. Wongbe has dedicated a newly constructed modern town hall in Dorgbor Town, Gbi-Doru Administrative District, marking another community infrastructure intervention aimed at improving local engagement and providing residents with a permanent facility for public and traditional activities.
The dedication ceremony, held on Sunday, November 1, brought the project to completion, with Representative Wongbe formally turning over the facility to the people of Dorgbor Town for their use and ownership.
As part of the handover, the lawmaker also presented several chairs to complement the facility’s furnishings and support its use for community meetings, public consultations, traditional gatherings, and other organized activities.
The newly constructed town hall features a spacious meeting area, accommodation facilities for visiting guests, and bathroom facilities. The structure is designed to provide residents with a more organized and comfortable environment for hosting community engagements, receiving visitors, and conducting traditional and administrative functions.
The project represents an investment in community-level infrastructure, particularly in providing residents with a dedicated space where local leaders, elders, youth groups, women, and other stakeholders can convene to discuss issues affecting their community.
Beyond its physical structure, the town hall is expected to serve as an important meeting point for strengthening local participation, promoting dialogue, and supporting traditional leadership and community organization in Dorgbor Town.
The formal handover also transfers the facility into the care of the community, placing responsibility on residents and local leadership to ensure its proper use, maintenance, and long-term preservation.
Representative Wongbe’s intervention comes amid growing calls for elected officials to demonstrate their commitment to their constituencies through tangible development initiatives, particularly projects that address the everyday needs of communities.
