GREENVILLE, SINOE COUNTY – Prominent legal practitioner Atty. Teklo Maxwell Grigsby II has officially declared his intention to contest the District #1 Representative seat in Sinoe County during Liberia’s 2029 General and Presidential Elections, reaffirming his unwavering commitment to the race.
In an exclusive interview, Atty. Grigsby dismissed speculation that he would abandon his political ambition, stating unequivocally that he remains fully committed to seeking the District #1 legislative seat and has no intention of stepping aside for any individual.
As part of his preparations for the election, Atty. Grigsby disclosed that he plans to resign from his position at the Witness Protection Agency of Liberia on October 28, 2028, allowing him to devote his full attention to his campaign ahead of the 2029 polls.
He also refuted reports allegedly being circulated by supporters of Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon in Sinoe County claiming that he had withdrawn from the race and pledged his support to the Speaker’s political interests in the county. Describing the reports as false and misleading, Atty. Grigsby maintained that his focus remains firmly on securing the District #1 Representative seat.
Beyond his political aspirations, Atty. Grigsby highlighted the impact of his educational empowerment initiative, announcing that the first 27 beneficiaries of his scholarship program are expected to graduate with Bachelor of Science (BSc) degrees from various accredited universities across Liberia on October 28, 2026.
He characterized the anticipated graduation as a landmark achievement for the scholarship program, saying it reflects his long-standing commitment to expanding educational opportunities and investing in the future of young people in Sinoe County.
Atty. Grigsby noted that education remains a cornerstone of sustainable development and reaffirmed his pledge to continue supporting initiatives that empower the next generation through academic advancement.
