Harper, Maryland – Maryland County Senator James P. Biney has officially joined Liberia’s legal profession after being admitted to the Maryland County Bar during a ceremony at the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court in Harper.
His admission comes after successfully graduating from the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law at the University of Liberia and completing all required legal and professional requirements for entry into the Bar.
The ceremony, held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, also saw Mr. Adolphus Judy admitted to practice law. The proceedings were presided over by Judge George S. Wiles Jr., the newly assigned Resident Judge of the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court.
During the event, Senator Biney and Mr. Judy took the official oath of admission, formally becoming licensed legal practitioners in Liberia.
The milestone marks a significant addition to Senator Biney’s public service career, allowing him to combine his legislative responsibilities with the practice of law. His legal background is expected to strengthen his contributions to legislative work, constitutional matters, governance, and legal reform.
As a member of the Liberian Bar, Senator Biney is also expected to uphold the ethical standards of the legal profession, including respect for the Constitution, the rule of law, judicial independence, and professional conduct.
