Monrovia — Darkeimue Dolo, Human Resource Officer in the office of Montserrado County District #12 Representative Jerry K. Yogboh, has rejected reports circulating online that a Debt Court judgment ordered the lawmaker to pay US$7,000.
Dolo clarified that the judgment was entered against Comfort Quality Care at Home for All, Inc., a corporate entity, and not against Representative Yogboh in his personal capacity.
According to him, the legal distinction between a corporation and an individual is important, arguing that a judgment against a company does not automatically establish personal financial liability for its officers, shareholders, or representatives.
Dolo maintained that, based on the available court record, there is no indication that the Debt Court found Representative Yogboh personally responsible for the alleged debt.
He also questioned the jurisdictional basis of the matter, noting that if the underlying transaction or dispute occurred in the United States and the company is subject to U.S. laws, the appropriate legal proceedings should be pursued against the relevant parties in the proper jurisdiction.
The Human Resource Officer has meanwhile urged journalists and members of the public to examine the complete court records before publishing or sharing conclusions about the matter.
He described recent reports suggesting that Representative Yogboh was personally ordered to pay the US$7,000 debt as misleading, alleging that the reports could be part of an effort to politically damage the lawmaker.
Dolo said Representative Yogboh remains focused on carrying out his constitutional responsibilities and representing the people of Electoral District #12, Montserrado County.
