Monrovia – The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) has underscored the importance of strategic communication in strengthening taxpayer education and promoting voluntary tax compliance as part of its ongoing induction training for newly recruited contract staff.
Speaking during the training, Acting Manager and Officer-in-Charge of Communications, Jerry Laynumah Siakor, said effective communication is essential to improving public understanding of the LRA’s mandate, services, reforms, and achievements.
Siakor explained that the Communication, Media and Public Affairs (CMPA) Section serves as the Authority’s official communication arm, responsible for engaging taxpayers and the public through various platforms, including social media, while protecting the LRA’s corporate image.
He urged the new employees to see themselves as ambassadors of the institution, emphasizing that professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct are critical to maintaining the Authority’s reputation.
The induction program, organized by the Human Resources Management Division’s Training and Capacity Development Unit, is designed to equip newly recruited contract staff with the knowledge and institutional values needed to support the LRA’s domestic revenue mobilization efforts.
