RIVER GEE COUNTY, Liberia – River Gee County Superintendent Hon. Mike T. Swengbe has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to expanding access to quality healthcare across the county, describing the newly completed Killepo Primary Healthcare Clinic as a significant milestone in improving medical services in rural communities.
Speaking during the official turnover ceremony of the clinic in Killepo, Kanweaken, Chedepo District, Superintendent Swengbe praised the collaborative efforts of the Government of Liberia, development partners, and local stakeholders in delivering the project.
He said the commissioning of the facility reflects the government’s determination to strengthen the country’s healthcare system by bringing essential medical services closer to citizens living in remote areas.
“This clinic will save lives and bring healthcare closer to our people. We thank President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, WHH, the County Health Team, and everyone who made this possible,” Superintendent Swengbe said.
The Superintendent stressed that the County Administration will continue working with the Ministry of Health, the River Gee County Health Team, and development partners to ensure the facility is adequately staffed, supplied with essential medicines and equipment, and properly maintained to provide quality healthcare services.
He also commended residents of Killepo and surrounding communities for their support throughout the implementation of the project, noting that community ownership will be critical to the clinic’s long-term success.
Superintendent Swengbe described the facility as more than just a healthcare centre, saying it represents hope for families who previously had to travel long distances to access basic medical care. He reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to continue supporting initiatives that improve the well-being of the people of River Gee County.
