The first Colorado cases of a COVID-19 variant originally identified in India have turned up in Mesa County, but it’s not clear how much of a threat this particular version of the virus will pose.
The five people who tested positive hadn’t recently traveled outside Mesa County, but it’s not yet known if they had any connections to each other, state epidemiologist Dr. Rachel Herlihy said during a news briefing Thursday.
