By Theophilus G. Chea

KALUKEN CITY, Kaluway District, Maryland County — Maryland County Superintendent Nathaniel S. Toe Jr. has pledged US$3,000 in county support to the Tubman University Government Students Association (TUGSA) to help address pressing concerns affecting students at William V.S. Tubman University.

Toe made the announcement on Saturday, October 3, during the Maryland Day Bicentennial Celebration Lunch in Kaluken City, Kaluway District.

Speaking to members of the Maryland Youth Association, the superintendent said the funding is intended to provide direct support to students through their representative body at the university.

He said the US$3,000 would be provided to TUGSA to enable its leadership to respond to pressing needs and concerns affecting the student body.

The announcement represents a direct commitment by the county administration to support students at the university, although Toe did not specify when the funds would be released or identify the priorities that would receive the money first.

Details regarding the disbursement and use of the funds are expected to be worked out between the county administration and TUGSA.

TUGSA represents the interests of students at Tubman University and engages with university authorities on issues affecting student welfare and campus life.
